God, where did the month go? Just yesterday people were having barbecues every other day, now I see people wearing jackets, and in a couple of days we'd be in the last quarter of the year! This is another adulting thing I've noticed. Time flies by quickly when you spend most it working. It's scary. Go check out my other 'adulting things' if you missed it!
This month I finally had a colour picnic. Pro-tip for having one: Prepare a backup location, in case it rains on your picnic day. Here's a short video.
Book of the Month: Currently reading 'How Women Rise'. A book about how the habits that help successful people get to their current position might be what is holding them back from moving up to the next phase. Trying to get in my yearly dose of non-fiction before the year runs out. Would be writing a blog on it next week.
Show of the Month: Finally (and sadly) finished The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, now I have to wait for the next and final season. Learnt that Lenny's character is based of an actual comedian Lenny Bruce who died from an overdose, and I swear if they kill off show-Lenny, I'm gonna- I'm gonna- I don't know, I'm just going to cry. Lenny needs to be protected at all costs.
I've been beating around the bush to ward off any of my family members that might have stumbled across this particular blog because I'm about to talk about my sex life.
Last call, if you're my family member, this might be the best place to stop.
I finally had sex for the first time, and I'm not going to go into intricate details in this post (though I actually want to talk about that sometime too, oh, and it was very sweaty, I have to say), but I'm going to talk about expectations vs reality.
I've always imagined my first time to be at least a bit romantic. You know candles, flowers, sexy underwear (I don't even remember what underwear I was wearing on this day, not that it'd matter, it was dark), nice ambience et cetera, et cetera.
Reality? It just happened, and it was nothing like that. I even brought it up with the girls during the picnic, and while most of the stories were similar, I just could not help thinking, I WAITED 22 YEARS FOR THIS (I mean not 22 years but you get it).
Like at least if I was going to sin, let me have something to defend my honour with. Like,
"God, you should have been there, the vibes were right, everything was great, PLUS, I might not be his wife but at LEAST I'm his girlfriend. That should count for something rightttttt?"
Now I have to plead my case like:
Anyways, I'm curious as to what every other person's first time was like. Please share with me.
That's all I have for the month. Want to read more? Catch up on all September's posts!
