The need for change, Christmas dresses, and Taylor's tickets.
Back again with another monthly recap.
I’m finding it hard to believe that the year is over in a month. It’s like just yesterday, I was telling myself I still had time to meet my NYRs and now, I’m gearing up for next year’s? Where has my life gone!?
On the topic of life, a few nights ago I was just thinking how I’m slowly but surely becoming restless with where I am at the moment- to expatiate, where I’m living, where I’m working, what I’m doing with my life, that kind of thing.
It could be the new year looming, but I have just been craving change lately, like in a new life kind of way.
I told my friend that you know when change is near because you start to feel restless with your current setting, and there are two pathways, you either let the unsettling feeling pass, or you use it as a push, to jumpstart change. I find that I usually just let it pass, so this time I’m resolving to work with it, see where it goes.
Next, the biggest thing about gray November is Black Friday (for non-US residents at least), and I know everyone always says it’s such a scam, but I still look forward to it. For this Black Friday, I had a bunch of things I wanted to get.
First, Ever since I started working remotely, I look like a homeless person half the time, so I wanted to get myself a couple of loungewear. Unfortunately, the stores that I would have gotten my sweatpants and tops from did not have a BF Sale, so I ended up getting a couple of sweatpants from Winners, and some basic tops from Forever 21.
Next, I needed a dress for a work Christmas party.
Originally, I got this stunning dress, from a UK-based small business. I'm in love with it and it hasn't even come! I ordered it way before BF, hoping I’d get it before the Christmas party but it doesn’t look like I would so I decided to shop for substitute dresses on BF.
(BTW, they have a Cyber Monday Sale, for anyone interested!)
I had my eyes on this Zara dress for a week prior, and in the end, it wasn’t included in their BF sale, and honestly, I did not think it was worth paying the full price for. I ended up going with this one from & other stories, which by the way, Zara has something similar but I liked the other one better.
I’ve been wanting to get a plain, lightweight winter jacket for travelling, and I finally got one from Joe Fresh. My days of the puffy cropped jacket are finally coming to an end.
For bookworms, Book Depository had a sale too but unfortunately not on the books in my cart.
I planned on getting two Tom Ford fragrances I recently tested, (and BTW for anyone interested Hudson Bay has an ongoing fragrance sale, and here's the tester collection I bought from Nordstrom) but by the time I got to ticking that off, I’d exhausted my budget. Crossing my fingers for the next big sale- Boxing Day.
All in all, I don't think stores went all out for their BF sale this year, but I managed to tick off the mains on my shopping list so that's something I guess.
Next on my list is Taylor Swift's concert tickets then I can finally look forward to the end of the year. Manifesting tickets, because I might just faint if I don't end up getting them.
Anyways that's it for the month. Let me know what your Black Friday mains were and if you were able to get them on sale.
Till next time!
