Life Update

Okay, so this was not even what I was supposed to be posting today but it was 5:52 AM and I spent the entire day watching The Office and reading You Deserve Each Other and Fangirl and I need to release something today before I go to work but when I opened my laptop to start writing the original topic, it just felt lame and I lost the very last bit of motivation I had.

Now I’m turning this into a life update like a Youtube video that no one wants to watch, ONLY it’s worse now because at least watching a life update is better than reading it.

Anyways, postgrad life is ✌🏽🤟🏽🤘🏽👌🏽👍🏽
(I don’t know the word to use for it honestly).

Things no one tells you:

  • For some reason bills start coming out of nowhere. I’m not even talking rent or insurance because I’m not paying those yet, I’m talking work permit fee, and English exam fee and medical exam fee. Like chill. I’m still transitioning here.
  • You actually don’t have the motivation to do anything. Don’t even get me started on how many times I’ve wanted to call in sick. I went to work on Thursday and realised that my shift was actually on Wednesday and NO ONE EVEN NOTICED I MISSED MY SHIFT! I was talking to my scheduling manager and she was like, ‘you can go home. You don’t have to stay today, you were here yesterday’ and I’m like, ‘uhmmm actually I wasn’t’. I shouldn’t have said that by the way. They could have paid me for an absent day.
  • I believe everyone knows this but job hunting is tiring. For every one job I apply for, I take the entire day off. I’m not joking.
  • Your university keeps disturbing you. Send you grad pictures! Do you want your diploma framed? Update your password. Oh goddd leave me alone!
  • Every day you don’t do anything it looks like you’re lagging behind. I spend pretty much my entire day lounging on my couch, buying something on Amazon, ordering food and watching TV and I’m always stressed because I should be doing something else then 5 PM comes and I’m like, the day is already gone. Tomorrow is a bright new day. Tomorrow is the same pattern.

When I put it like this, this was exactly my life pre-grad, only rather than school, I have to go to work and I can’t skip (I mean apparently I can because they don’t see me) but it’s the same things I’ve always been doing.

If this post doesn’t say ‘send love’, I don’t know what does, so if you just graduated this spring, let me know what you’ve been doing, I need life inspo. If you’ve already graduated, what did you do the days after your last exam? If you’ve not graduated, unread this post. Come back after you’ve graduated.
